WELCOME DR. COLLIER 

Dr. Veronica Collier joins Pediatric Associates of Madison on September 8, 2020, from the Huntsville Hospital Health System where she served as the lead Pediatric Newborn Hospitalist and a member of the Pediatric Hospitalist team. Dr. Collier prides herself in providing excellent, compassionate, and comprehensive pediatric care. Dr. Collier has been practicing for about 15 years. She has provided extensive health care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults throughout her career. 

 

While at Huntsville Hospital, Dr. Collier wrote and implemented several newborn protocols for the Well Baby Nursery, including the newborn hypoglycemia protocol, glucose gel protocol, and sepsis screening protocol.  Prior to returning home to Alabama and  working at Huntsville Hospital, Dr. Collier was a pediatrician at WellStar Creekside Pediatrics. In addition to caring for newborns in the hospital, she provided a wide spectrum of health care services ranging from preventive health care/routine well child checks to the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases in pediatric patients.

 

Dr. Collier started her pediatric career as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Scottish Rite with Childrens Health Care of Atlanta.  She provided outstanding clinical care focusing on the physical, social, and emotional health of children from birth to young adulthood.  She earned her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University.  She received her Medical Doctorate degree from Morehouse School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Alabama of Birmingham.  She is a board certified pediatrician and is a member of the Academy of Pediatrics.  

 

She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and son.  She is delighted for the opportunity to join Pediatric Associates of Madison.  She is excited to work with the patients/parents of the practice.

We are currently scheduling yearly checkups and sports physicals.

Parents of children entering kindergarten and 6th grade please be aware your children will need vaccines before school starts in the fall.

NEW ADOLESCENT VACCINE RECOMMENDATIONS:

The AAP and CDC now recommend the following vaccines to keep your adolescent healthy and to help prevent cancer:

11-12 year olds  --  Tdap, Meningitis A #1, Gardisil for HPV

16-18 year olds -- Meningitis A #2, Meningitis B
